FreelanceTaxTools.org ("we," "our," "the site") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and your rights. The short version: your calculator inputs stay on your device. We use standard analytics and advertising services that use cookies.
Data You Enter in Calculators
All calculations happen entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter into our calculators are never sent to any server. They are processed locally on your device and are not stored, collected, or transmitted by us.
localStorage
Some tools may use your browser's localStorage to save data between visits for your convenience (e.g., saving previously entered values). This data is stored only on your device, in your browser. We never access, read, or transmit this data. You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data).
Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 collects anonymous usage data including pages visited, time on site, referring sources, device type, and general geographic region. This data helps us improve our tools and content. GA4 uses cookies. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with our tools through heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity collects anonymized interaction data including clicks, scrolls, and mouse movements. It uses cookies. Microsoft's privacy policy: privacy.microsoft.com.
Google AdSense
We display ads through Google AdSense to support the site and keep our tools free. AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your interests and browsing history. Google Fonts
We use Google Fonts to display text on the site. When you visit a page, your browser makes requests to Google's servers to download font files. This means Google receives your IP address and the page URL. Google's privacy policy applies to this data transfer.

We do not set any first-party cookies. However, the third-party services listed above (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google AdSense) use cookies as described in their respective privacy policies. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
GDPR and Your Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and the right to object to processing. Since we don't collect personal data directly (only through third-party services), exercising these rights primarily involves managing your settings with Google and Microsoft. Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
How to Clear Your Data
To clear any locally stored data: open your browser settings, navigate to Privacy or Site Settings, find freelancetaxtools.org, and clear site data. This removes all localStorage entries and cookies associated with the site.

We may update this policy when we add new services or features. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
